Billing Counter Assistant

Reports to: Store Manager/Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Billing Counter Assistant is responsible for managing the billing counter, processing transactions, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transaction Processing:
    - Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
    - Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
2. Customer Service:
    - Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries.
    - Resolve billing issues and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
3. Billing Counter Management:
    - Maintain a clean and organized billing counter area.
    - Ensure adequate supply of billing materials and stationery.
4. Cash Handling:
    - Handle cash, count change, and balance cash register.
    - Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
5. Teamwork:
    - Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales targets and store goals.
    - Assist with store operations, such as stocking shelves or receiving merchandise.

Requirements:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree preferred.
2. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment, preferably in a billing or customer service role.
3. Skills:
    - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    - Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
    - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    - Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions:

1. Physical Demands: Stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and move around the store.
2. Work Environment: Retail store environment with frequent customer interaction.
3. Schedule: Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
